After his passing, his body was cremated. Part of his ashes was scattered at a special location in Los Angeles, while the rest was brought back to his mother’s home in Stone Mountain, Georgia, where she spread them in her garden.
Overwhelmed by grief, his mother did not allow any public memorial.

It wasn’t until much later that Afeni Shakur realized that the quiet visitor had been Eminem. She ultimately came to understand the bond between the global rap icon and her son, as well as the heartbreaking meaning behind a silent gesture made on that rainy day a gesture she hadn’t fully grasped at the time.
